I cannot compile older sources with recent GNU make 3.82, see
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343727 for details. Is there any chance
the syntax in Makefile gets corrected so that make-3.82 does not choke?
make-3.81 does not have this check so it works for me.
