Summary: 2.6.36 fails to recover networking after microcode
                    error
           Product: Networking
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 2.6.36-rc7
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Wireless
        AssignedTo: networking_wireless at kernel-bugs.osdl.org
        ReportedBy: rockorequin at hotmail.com
        Regression: Yes

The networking in 2.6.35 recovers from hardware errors in my wireless card
after a DHCP address is received (see the microcode error described in
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17592), but 2.6.36 is usually
unable to recover.

The sequence is:

a) the wireless card connects to the hidden wireless network on an 11N AP.
network-manager runs dhclient and receives a DHCP address.

b) very shortly after this, the microcode error occurs.

c) on 2.6.35, the connection continues to work, but on 2.6.36, the connection
is broken. ifconfig shows the DHCP address is still set for the card, but
pinging the gateway is no longer possible. This makes 2.6.36 unusable with this
router.
