New HP ProBook 6555b WD723EA#ABD with 2.1GHz AMD Phenom II N830 cpu and 8GB
RAM.
BIOS Version F.03
openSuSE 11.3

If the serial port is used to get to the serial console on another system, the
keyboard and trackpad will be dead after some point.
Also there are stalls in the serial connection and ttyS0 input overrun(s).
If a key is pressed, the serial output proceeds (with whatever comes over the
wire at this point). But the keypress does not wakeup the screensafer.

If the serial port is not in use, kde screensafer or console screenblank in
runlevel 3 work as expected.

I'm attaching some logfiles from the system.

This happens with the shipped kernel 2.6.32 and also with the 2.6.36 kernel,
vanilla or opensuse.

It was suggested that it may have todo with deep cstates. This module option
does not help.
options processor max_cstate=1
