Summary: post-resume, backlight controls stop working (Toshiba
                    Portege R700)
           Product: Platform Specific/Hardware
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 2.6.36-rc6
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: i386
        AssignedTo: platform_i386 at kernel-bugs.osdl.org
        ReportedBy: jon+bugzilla.kernel.org at alcopop.org
        Regression: No

On a Toshiba Portege R700 laptop, the backlight control works fine, until a
suspend, and does not work post suspend to RAM/resume.

Tested in single user mode, manipulating
/sys/class/backlight/toshiba/brightness directly, using /sys/power/state to
trigger suspend; as well as gnome-power-manager invoked suspend in a multiuser
mode GNOME desktop session.
