           Summary: problems with printing specification
           Product: Specification
           Version: 3.2
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Printing
        AssignedTo: mats at freestandards.org
        ReportedBy: licquia at freestandards.org

There are two sets of problems with the printing specification.

First, from the notes on bug 1811:

------
I haven't gotten much further with these, aside from disabling the group of
"problem" tests.

It seems that most of tests that have portability issues are the interfaces
which need http and ipp interfaces that are not part of LSB, they require a:

http = httpConnect(cupsServer(), ippPort());, to use the interface. For the
tests, I built a small static archive from the cups-1.1.23 source to enable
these interfaces.

This includes:
cupsGetDefault2
cupsGetDests2
cupsGetFd
cupsGetFile
cupsGetJobs2
cupsGetPPD2
cupsPrintFile2
cupsPrintFiles2
cupsPutFd
cupsPutFile
cupsSetDests2

When putting together the import I kind of questioned whether these should
really go in. Perhaps we should consider disabling these in the spec before
final 3.2 release.
------

Second, the "ppdFileAttr" function does not appear to be documented anywhere.
It's not in the generated docs from upstream, and does not even appear to be
defined in the header files where the other PPD functions are. We either need
to find and include it, or drop it from the spec.
