Thank you for the suggestion, something like that is already in our internal
to-do list.

However, such detailed progress as you described will hardly be possible.
First, directories are not checked consecutively: first, all ELF files are
checked from all directories and subdirectories, then - all Perl scripts, then
- all Python scripts, etc. So, the progress would have to jump from directory
to directory and return back, adding new files. Second, appchk analyses not
file-by-file, but takes all files together and performs a multi-pass check of
the whole bunch (scans all files to extract and remember exported symbols, then
scans all of them from the beginning again to analyse imported symbols and
match them with the exported ones)... We'll think over one or another way to
indicate this progress to the user.
