International Design for All Conference
Rovaniemi, Finland 13-15  September 2006 

Call for Papers
Scope
Inclusion is a key element in  ensuring the mobilisation of all human and social capital to achieve socially  sustainable growth, employment and cohesion. The International Design for All  conference is a cross-disciplinary event, highlighting policy developments,  Design for All strategies, research results and practical experiences that  support the development of an Information Society for All. 

The  conference will be organised by the European Design for All e-Accessibility  Network EDeAN and the Finnish Design for All Network, with the National Research  and Development Centre for Welfare and Health STAKES and the University of  Lapland as the key institutions. 

Topics of interest
The first part of  the conference will focus on Design for All related policy topics. It is based  on invited presentations.

The second part of the conference has parallel  sessions that will focus on the following topics: 

Design for All  strategies both in public sector agencies and public companies. Agencie and  companies are encouraged to present their strategies on supporting inclusion,  accessibility and Design for All as a part of socially sustainable development,  corporate social responsibility, as part of R&D strategies etc. 
Experts  are encouraged to present research results, practical experiences and good  practice in supporting inclusion in the information society in the fields of  e.g.

 e-Accessibility
Ageing and information and communication technologies  
Cultural diversity and information and communication  technologies
Geographic inclusion and information and communication  technologies
Inclusive public services
