I have one minor correction to these minutes for our September 6
meeting.

I am reported saying "there are accessibility issues with Bazaar.."

Should be:

"We should check for any accessibility issues with Bazaar."

> Olaf- the meeting will be 9/23 to 9/30

> Olaf- I haven’t had a chance to look at the new version of the spec.
> Bill- not sure whether I covered Gregg Vanderheiden’s points. There were a fair number of them, some of them on tweeking parameter ranges.
> Janina- do we need more time on this? I’m getting eager to get the spec to the Board.since this went to public comment in December.
> Olaf- we should go through the comments from Gregg to see whether they are covered in the current spec or if we need to add them.
> Bill- the keyboard group discussed Gregg’s comments and I think we felt that we had covered them. I am reluctant to open the discussion. I believe Mark, Will, Earl and I had covered it.
> Janina- did we respond by email to Gregg?
> Bill- there may be comments in the Bugzilla. I was hoping someone else in the keyboard could correct me or remember if we had closed the discussion.
> Janina- so we need to look into Bugzilla to see the status of the comments.
> Bill- I’ll take a look at it. There are only 3 bugs. I’ll take that as an action item.
> Janina- we need to follow up and respond if we haven’t already. We need to explain what the disposition of their comments are before we go to the board. I will ask Earl as well. We will come back on this next week.
> Bill- Gregg is listed on the comments.
> Janina- the spec reads well to me. I didn’t look closely at the timing. We had a little bit of comment on CVS while finishing the keyboard spec. Move AT-SPI to the new version control system?
> Olaf- which version control system are we moving to?
> George- Bazaar N G
> Janina- is there a url for it?
> George- I’ll forward the address of the demo page to the group
> Janina- do we want someone to talk to us about it?
> George- it is a done deal as far as they are concerned. They want to get rid of CVS.
> Janina- there are accessibility issues with Bazaar.
> Bill- command line is

> Bill - it is a decentralized RCS. We are one of the projects where centralization isn’t bad. That would be fine for bug tracking but for a standards tracking process it isn’t the best.
> Janina- you’d have to check in often. We should look at the GUI and see if it has accessibility problems and let them know as soon as possible. We still need a new team leader for Keyboard. I will put a name on the table- Gunnar could do the job if he has time.
> Gunnar- what does being the chair of the workgroup mean.
> Janina- keep the process moving forward. If we move toward doing conformance testing, it would mean holding meetings and move that forward.
> Bill- preparing meeting agendas and chairing meetings are the main thing. It is a small group and we are close to completing the check. You should be able to delegate.
> Janina- also being able to explain the spec. Explain things to people implementing the spec. It should be a resume builder as well.
> Gunnar- it would be good if some minutes of the past discussion were available.
> Bill- all we have are archives of the mailing list. We didn’t create minutes other than the mailing list. Earl may have done minutes on a couple of occasions. You shouldn’t try to chair and create minutes at the same time.
> Gunnar- it would be better if the new chair knew what has been discussed in the past meetings. How difficult would it be for the members to summarize those?
> Bill- perhaps the wiki would be a good way to do it. Ask the group to fill out the where you are now page.
> Janina- I’ll take an action item to put that request to the keyboard group.
> George- anyone can go in to the Wiki and create the keyboard page.
> John- could we ask Mark Gunderson to do it?
> Bill- that might be a good idea, he could do it for a few weeks while Gunnar got caught up.
> Janina- can we target to have a chair for keyboard by the week of Sept. 20? Lets try that.
> Bill and George started a great wiki on AT-SPI. Could we date comments?
> Bill- indicated the date parenthetically. When I go back to edit my comments, I’ll add dates.
> Janina- is there an automated way to do it?
> Bill- the problems is that you are editing the text so the changes occur within the text. You would need to go to the log to see the dates.
> Janina- adding dates may be the way to go
> Olaf- add a date , once changes have been made, it would be good to update the wiki anyway. Could open and close. It would be good to have the date at the top of the section in the introduction. Other things are not so time dependent. I have been trying to rephrase things as I understand them.
> Janina- could say in the introduction- this is meant to indicate our current understanding of the issue and not be a historical record.
> No further issues today? We will meet again next week and on the 20th. I will not be able to meet on the 27th. See you next week.
