aloha!

minutes from today's Open A11y Workgroup conference call are available
at:

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/Accessibility/Minutes/Minutes20081014

please log any corrections, clarifications, mis-attributions and the
like by replying-to this announcement on-list...

the big news to emerge from today's meeting was the approval of
IAccessible2, version 1.0.2 by the Open A11y Workgroup -- cogratulations
to the IAccessible2 Special Interest Group (http://a11y.org/ia2) and
thanks to all who worked so hard on developing such a desperately needed
extention to existing windows accessibility APIs, especially the
engineers and developers who worked with Open A11y to achieve a standard
that will plug so many of the accessibility holes that have appeared
since the last release of MSAA 12 years ago -- congratulations
and thanks to all!

please note that there will NOT be an Open A11y Workgroup call next
week (21 October 2008); the NEXT Open A11y Workgroup call will be
held on Tuesday, 28 October 2008
