"features", "overlays" or "add-ons". Rather, they are core
components of any architecture -- programmatic or otherwise.

Meeting Minutes
Topic 1: AT-SPI on D-Bus Port: Progress and Issues
* AT-SPI on D-Bus Port wiki page last updated 30 October 2009 by
Mike Gorse
+ MikeG is maintaining the AT-SPI on D-Bus Port wiki page, and
will add info about AT-SPI2 development releases to the D-Bus
wiki page
Discussion of Topic 1: D-Bus Port Update
WW: started Orca regression tests for GTK demo for CORBA based GTI in
gitmaster -- relocated AT-SPI with CORBA -- by twiggling g-comp key
was able to run baseline text; CORBA stuff still works as expected
WW: not as much success with D-Bus; Orca fine on desktop, but problem
with regression tests
MG: getting failures in test - other problems?
WW: not able to connect to Orca during regression test:
WW: what happens is that Orca fires up D-Bus service for test to talk
to; D-Bus service says "start recording" when starts tests and "stop
recording" when tests run; recording what is being sent to speech or
braille device; runs app through application, then ask what Orca spoke
during runtime
WW: events being properly played, application going through motions of
interactivity, but Orca not recording anything - not sure if failure
of Orca to speak or produce braille
BT: few failures - getting empty tubes; have to sit down, grind
through what is wrong and fix
BT: think a11y bus is dying prematurely, so Orca not getting any
events
BT: any chance to try python module-loading - pyatspi d-bus without
upsetting library
WW: great idea; relocating pyatspi module for CORBA stuff; who
installs pyatspi redirect?
WW: 2 packages will have to co-exist
WW: modified system module dictionary
WW: long meeting with RedHat yesterday
WW: had good discusion on API -- wording choices different -- changed
to assistance seing hearing typing and pointing and clicking without a
mouse; geared towards what trying to do; scanning mode still to be
investigated - duplicate item in keyboard and mouse area; scanning
vastly different system mode, so may have to be a higher checkbox
WW: GNOME A11y meeting in England in early 2010 to address
switched-based access -- hope to link up with Steve Lee and individual
from sweeden who have expertise in this area -- trying to assure that
they are there
WW: in the meantime, GOK broken now; have to figure out how to get GOK
incorporated
WW: working on revised UI
WW: trying to make preferences for a11y easier to find and use
WW: GNOME 3.0 will be full of innovations -- do the same for a11y in
GNOME 3.0 -- not just for GNOME shell, but important base components
