Summary: [patch] saa7134 - more reliable carrier detection
Kernel Version: 2.6.11-rc3-mm2 (bug 4171 patched)
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
             Owner: drivers_video-other at kernel-bugs.osdl.org
         Submitter: makovick at kmlinux.fjfi.cvut.cz

This patch makes the SAA7134 driver do a series of attempts to detect the audio
carrier instead of just one, and also relaxes the detection criteria a bit
during the later attempts. For me, it substantially improves the scan
reliability. With the unpatched driver, TV outputs white noise every now and
then, while with the patch the tuning works correctly.

Such unreliability is especially annoying when capturing some video using cron,
as one has to worry that the result will contain just noise instead of proper
sound track.
