Summary: byteorder include prevents kernel compilation
    Kernel Version: 2.6.10
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocking
             Owner: axboe at suse.de
         Submitter: bill at crowellsystems.com

Distribution:slack
Hardware Environment:i386
Software Environment:
Problem Description:
 gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -g -O2 -MT
iwffff.lo-MD -MP -MF .deps/iwffff.Tpo -c iwffff.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/iwffff.o
In file included from /usr/include/linux/byteorder/little_endian.h:82,
                 from /usr/local/include/asm/byteorder.h:45,
                 from ../../include/sound/ainstr_iw.h:30,
                 from iwffff.c:45:
/usr/include/linux/byteorder/generic.h:151: error: parse error before "htonl"
/usr/include/linux/byteorder/generic.h:153: error: parse error before "htons"

this problem manifests when making 2.6.11-rc3 in the scsi layer as well as this
attempted compile of alsalib.

it is blocking because it causes a complete halt from the kernel compilation of
scsi devices at sr_vendor.c
