Summary: synaptic touchpad jerky, tap is like doubleclick
    Kernel Version: 2.6.11.5
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
             Owner: vojtech at suse.cz
         Submitter: gnn at freemail.hu

Distribution: Debian Sarge
Hardware Environment: Compaq Evo N610c
Software Environment: X
Problem Description: When I use my touchpad, the pointer moves very fast, and is
jerky. Thus it is quite difficoult to position over some icons or buttons or such.
Even bigger problem is that when I would like to tap to activate something, it
is activated twice (like tapping on up directory in konqueror will take me 2
levels up).
tapping and then dragging (like resizing a window) does not work (nothing happens).

xev reports for a simple tap buttonpress, buttonrelease, buttonpress, buttonrelease.

It seems that when I do tap and drag, it also reports press release press
release, and then motionnotify, instead of press and motionnotify

Steps to reproduce:
happens all the time
