Problem Description:
Hi

It's my first bug report. I do it because i think my problem is not tie to a
distribution but is tie to a kernel version.

Sorry for my english, i'm french and not bilangual. My english is rudimentary
(dictionnary help).

My equipment : Laptop MSI M670 - S7
My BIOS is updated (problem present with old version of my BIOS)

Boot it's OK without options until kernel 2.6.21 32 bits version
(I test Ubuntu Festy Fawn (2.6.20), Debian Etch (2.6.18), Fedora Core 7
(2.6.21))

My problem is the kernel 2.6.22

Boot impossible with kernel 2.6.22 32 bits version without acpi=off option

Boot work perfectly with kernel 2.6.22 64 bits version (without option)

I tested
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon Live CD and install on hard drive.
Mandriva 2008 Live CD and install on hard drive.
Debian Etch / Testing (update kernel with backport) install on hard drive.
Fedora Core 8 test 3 Live CD and install on hard drive (kernel 2.6.23) but is a
Beta.

If is 32 bits version, boot only acpi=off
If is 64 bits version, boot it's OK

I test options (with kernel 2.6.22 32 bits version) :
acpi=force
acpi=noirq
pnpacpi=off
nopcmcia
nolapic
pci=noacpi
irqpoll
And different combination (acpi=force irqpoll, ...).
Boot it's possible only option acpi=off.

Without option acpi=off, the systeme random freeze (during the boot(random :
immediatly, after few seconds), when user connect,...). No error message.

Actually, i'm on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (with KDE) kernel 2.6.22-14 64 bits
version.
