Summary: A flavour of Intel HD audio not implemented?
           Product: Drivers
           Version: 2.5
     KernelVersion: 2.6.27.7 (or 2.6.28.1)
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Sound(ALSA)
        AssignedTo: perex at perex.cz
        ReportedBy: thoralf.dassler at gmail.com

Latest working kernel version: probably none
Earliest failing kernel version: unknown
Distribution: Slackware 12.2, mainline kernel
Hardware Environment: Toshiba Satellite L300-1AQ
Software Environment: KDE-3.9.10
Problem Description: Sound works, volume change too, but:

1) There is only the Master slider in alsamixer after reboot; once KDE is up, I
manage to get two sliders: Master and PCM. This means many channels
are not available -- among them the microphone, which I need

2) Plugging in external speakers or headphones: laptop speakers do not
disengage

3) None of the available snd-hada-intel implementations in the kernel affect
the situation
