dmesg when trying to connect the disk

Hardware: Toshiba Satellite L755
USB:
08:00.0 USB Controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev

When the external disk is connected to a USB 2.0 port, it is detected and can
be mounted. When it is connected to the USB 3.0 port, the drive starts spinning
and there are entries in dmesg, but the external disk cannot be mounted.
