Hi

I am now investigating the HDI project , I found there are big gaps between the HDI project http://sourceforge.net/projects/hdi/ and CGL 2.0 requirement, so anybody
of you know whether there are other projects for the HDI.

Below is the gap analysis.

Description: OSDL CGL specifies that carrier grade Linux shall provide a “CGL System Device Enumeration Framework Specification.”
This specification shall define a framework that will contain the status of all available system devices. This specification shall define a set common interfaces/APIs so that an application can enumerate, via this framework, and acquire all available system devices and their status.

Gap : The nif utility is equivalent of mount for network interfaces. The file /etc/iftab (configurable) contains specifications which interface should get which address. Currently only Ethernet works. So the HDI now has not implemented the requirement in CGL, besides, there is no a set common interface/APIs that application can enumerate in HDI project.

Requirement 2.1.3.2 System Device Enumeration Framework Application Type: G, S, M Description: OSDL CGL specifies that carrier grade Linux shall provide shall
provide a framework for an application to enumerate all available system devices and their status.

Gap: Actually HDI project is totally a user space tool, it has not supplied a framework that can enumerate all available system devices and their status except
network interface.
