Hi all,

I've just landed in the list and, following Jesus' advice, I'd like to
start introducing myself.

I'm Javier, postdoctoral researcher in the SOM Research team at the
University Oberta de Catalunya, in Spain. Together with Jordi Cabot, we
have been researching in FOSS as well as developing some tools.

My background initially was in the Model-Driven Development/Modernization
fields, with special focus on Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs) and how they
are developed. In the last years I've moved to the FOSS research field to
study how it is developed, in particular, the rules that drive the
development process (i.e., governance).

Some of my contributions/advances/tools are here: http://jlcanovas.es

I'm very interested in following the advances of CHAOSS, as it offers a
common place to discuss on analytics for FOSS. I'm specially interested in
those metrics focused on the social dimension, and how they influence the
governance of the process. However, I also admit that the definition of a
full set of metrics is very appealing to understand the healthiness of FOSS
as a whole.

I'm monitoring the activity in the metrics working group, as I think I
could participate in the metrics identification/development process. Also,
I'm aware of the monthly/weekly meetings, in which I'd like to join when
possible. I'm looking forward to collaborating with others!

Cheers,

Javier
