from the position of a .org, generally the answer is "no".

the reasons are multiple. on the one hand, it's resource intensive to do a 
good job with this and it isn't much fun. it also requires long-term 
commitment to chase through some of these issues.

on the other hand, it's a question of authority. send an email to The Gap as a 
representative of $PROJECT and the answers one usually gets is either 
"$PROJECT who?" or "$PROJECT isn't part of our target."

you mentioned about FF gaining clout with market share, and there's something 
indeed to be said about that. we don't help ourselves, however, by not 
combining our collective market share into a larger "buying power" when 
addressing companies with technologies that don't work with our platforms.

in that sense, standardization between the .orgs is pretty key (so we can 
represent as a single bloc) and meetings like this one are as well (so we can 
perhaps start the formation of such blocs)
