I really haven't seen or understand the issues. The cups test setup does use
it's own configuration files. lpoptions is overwritten because of the behavior 
cupsSetDests, when called as root, which is why I try to preserve/restore it. 

I haven't looked at what foomatic-rip does, but it seems like it does a lot
more than is needed to test what we're specifying.

Can someone give examples of the system damage the tests are doing?
