           Summary: Investigate existing ALSA tests
           Product: Distribution Tests
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: misc
        AssignedTo: stewb at linux-foundation.org
        ReportedBy: silakov at ispras.ru
         QAContact: lsb-bugs at freestandards.org

As it was recently discussed in the lsb-discuss list, ALSA developers provide
some tests for libasound, and we should investigate possibility of integrating
these tests in the LSB test suite.

The tests are located in the 'test' directory inside the alsa-lib sources
(ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/lib/alsa-lib-1.0.19.tar.bz2 - the latest one at
the moment).

Note, however, that at least Gentoo maintainers claimed about the quality of
these tests - http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/sound/alsa.xml. Though this
document was last updated quite long ago, it doesn't seem that there were a lot
of changes in the tests since that time...
