Good statement. That's exactly what LSB said from the very beginning.
But unfortunately this thread seems to never die.

It's a good thing (TM) if the GUI people/camps talk to each
other about common protocols and interfaces. And they should
continue to do so.

But IMHO this shouldn't be done on the lsb lists, because
this is confusing and could lead to the impression that LSB
does/will cover GUIs.

Maybe it's time to create a gui-discuss list?
