[lsb-discuss] Packaging Dos and Windows applications

Hi,
I'm working on packaging Dos and Windows applications with extra
scripts, configuration files, etc., so they only depend on Dosemu/Wine
being availlable.
Some programs have several data files that only users in a certain group
(teachers) need to be able to edit, the other users (students) should
only have read-only access. The programs always expect everything to be
in the same folder though, so I use symbolic links with these. I'm
currently putting the program files in a subdirectory /usr/lib and the
data files in a subdirectory in /usr/share.
Are these the recommended locations for these files or should I put them
somewhere else? Are there any standard permission groups to use in my case?
Thanks in advance,
Julius
