Actually, it may make sense to wait until DocBook 4.4 is released, as it
will include a new inline <package> element. One of the intended semantics
of the new element is specifically to mark up RPMs and debs. 

Additional markup functionality may also be added to V4.4 that would make
it worth the wait. 

I'm guessing V4.4 will be released later this summer.
