The LSB Project has issued a minor update to the LSB 2.1
specification release candidate as RC2. Please review
through Jan 14, 2005 at the Spec page under the Daily
Drafts section. Issues should be filed in the LSB Bugzilla
using 2.1 in the version field.
A minor update to LSB 2.1 rc1 has extended the review
period by an additional week. The changes from rc1 to
rc2 were the result of additional cross-testing by the
LSB project identifying some issues with the lsb headers
as included in lsb-build-base, but as these also show
up under "data definitions" in the specification, the
spec was respun. If you have already reviewed rc1,
these are the only changes in rc2:
1. bug 321: add to SO_ACCEPTCONN, SO_RCVLOWAT,
SO_SNDLOWAT, SO_RCVTIMEO, SO_SNDTIMEO, SOMAXCONN,
SCM_RIGHTS
2. bug 674: related to bug 321, RCVLOWAT, SNDLOWAT,
RCVTIMEO, SNDTIMEO need processor-specific values,
not generic (ppc32 and ppc64 differed from the others)
3. bug 652: remove PTHREAD_MUTEX_TIMED_NP (NP =
non-portable), replace its use in
PTHREAD_MUTEX_INITIALIZER with PTHREAD_MUTEX_NORMAL
As before, reviewing aids include the LSB Errata document
(see link at the end of the Spec page), the LSB Buzilla,
bug 543 (Specification) and bug 609 (Development Environment),
as well as the informal diffmarked specifications - but note
that the latter were "fooled" by some style changes and make
it look like a lot more changed than was really the case.
