[lsb-discuss] Application Test Kit

An initial version of an application test kit is now available. This
has been discussed on some of the conference calls and on the list;
basically, it's appchk, archk, and pkgchk in a tarball, suitable for
just un-tarring and using. Please try it out, and report your
experiences to the list.

I've also started an unofficial bzr repo for the code used to generate
the tarball:

This is a quick hack designed to make testing applications easier for
people who don't want the hassle of installing packages for whatever
reason. It hopefully will act as a starting point for discussing how to
enhance the test kit.
Some ideas:
- Wrapper scripts, which run the appropriate tests and provide the
appropriate output for different use cases.
- Output that is easier to understand.
- Links (to the wiki at first; perhaps to the Developer Network in the
future) to explanations for various common issues, and what needs to be
done about them.
