Hi,
There are currently a number of useful bug reports sitting in the FHS
bugzilla and some proposed additions (such as the printing directory
additions which were discussed a month or so ago. Therefore I'd like
to get the process going to release an updated version of the FHS.
I'm suggesting the following timeline:
Now: Publicly request bug reports or proposed additions to be submitted
to the bugzilla (and for major changes to be CC'd to the mailing list)
November 10th: Closed to proposals. Work through all the bug reports
and proposals looking for consensus from mailing list on acceptance
or rejection
December 8th: First draft of updated document. Keep releasing
drafts until we have consensus.
The final document will be released when its ready (probably a month
or two later depending on how controversial the proposals are).
Any comments? (lack of opposition will be taken as approval :-)
The FHS bugzilla is back and working at:
http://bugs.freestandards.org
so please feel free to submit bug reports now.
Chris
