sorry my mailer seems to have completely mangled this in
preparing a reply.
I think we want to make experimental test packages available and
start getting feedback; I don't mind scaring people into action
a little by saying something like "if there are no objections these
will become part of official certification in 90 days.

this would be good. at the moment it's possible to handle
small numbers of requests manually, as has been the case for
a wile now.

yes, this is right. I didn't think to call it out, but in the
same way as the database itself it's not specifically a package
that a developer or distro will pull to install; nonetheless it
needs to be in place as a support tool.

In general terms, "yes".
We will make an autotest farm using LF equipment to begin,
and then hopefully expand to a cooperative setup where
distros are generating results and they are also being
shared with us. It's just been a problem getting anyone
to work on it, with a finite set of resources this setup has
consistently fallen below the allocation line and gotten no time...
>From what I've heard that problem may be almost solved now,
but it's not my call on allocating LF resources :-)
