Useful for *whom* and *wy*?  Which ISV applications are using ptrace,
and why?  I can see why the Intel Debugger might need it, but I'm
really at a loss why Mathmatica Player, DB2 Express, and Google
Desktop Linux (for example) need ptrace.

Ptrace is highly architecture specific, so its not going to be trivial
to specify.  So if there is some subset which is actually needed by
most ISV applications (and I'm not sure if we should try to support
debuggers as LSB apps), maybe that might make it easier for us to
support that subset.
