I was asked at the F2F to post some bug statistics I have.
These are a bit incomplete, but perhaps it will still
provide something on the trends people were curious about
(with some trouble, the missing bits could be mined out
of bugzilla)

these are of the form:
new last 90 (30) days; resolved last 90 (30); open; change

Feb 09: 113 (35) new, 137 (16) resolved with 377 open +20
April 09: 101 (26) new, 137 (16) resolved with 403 open +26
May 09: 109 (45) new, 83 (43) resolved with 406 open +3
June: 104 (30) new, 82 (22) resolved with 423 open +17
July: 91 (16) new, 63 (2) resolved with 437 open +14
August: 68 (17) new, 29 (7) resolved with 447 open +10
October: 68 (27) new, 41 (13) resolved with 466 open +19
November: 102 (51) new, 72 (38) resolved with 487 open +21
December: 116 (44) new, 97 (53) resolved with 486 open -1
can't find the ones from early this year, but then
April: 92 (27) new, 139 (59) resolved with 477 open

it should have been noted that some of the bugs resolved in
the April report are due to the F2F administrative decision to
close out the SI category which somewhat colors the "fixed"
rate. We subsequently had a burst of new filings not reflected
here, with some already closed out, which have pushed the open
count back to 486 today. So the good news is we're roughly
steady since last November; before that the open count was
increasing at a rate of +13/month for an extended period.
It's reasonable to say we get a bit over 30 new filings per month
on average.
