Posted Agenda:
=================

  - Stable update status.

  - Next steps after GTK+ 3.0 for LSB 5.0 database work.

  New business:
=============

Meeting opens at 11:00 with:

Stable updates candidate discussed; seems to be working on a
recent Fedora, even with SELinux enabled

5.0 proceeds with Mats hacking through database work and other
POSIX spawn; re-syncing / uplifting with POSIX after the last
major sync-up. The prior was 2003; last major seems to be
2008, and changes are confined to glibc in a large part

Jeff was looking into memcopy and there is a later symbol
version (2.14 as he recalled). It turns out that some 2.13
optimizations. There is a memcopy restriction on not copying
overlapping regions that formerly worked (memmove is to be
used in such cases). The optimization 'broke' the Flash
plug-in, and Linus sought to have it reverted by the glibc
without success; a workaround by Torvalds in Linux space was
written. Some memcopy / memmove aliasing ws performed at
2.14, and invisibly 'does the right thing' per the restriction

Workplan goal for the next few days is to get the updates out
by next week, and return to LSB 5.0 work

Call ends at local Noon
