Mats,

I have completed rebuilding SANE with the new LSB 5.0 release and
everything worked fine.

I will begin SANE test soon.

just a note: the development SDK snapshots (from 2 May on) now contain
all three changes.  can you let us know if this works out for you?  we
don't have another great way to test that the issues are resolved; it's
partially confirmed that it doesn't break things we regularly build (an
automatic full rebuild will happen over the weekend, unless Jeff has it
disabled for the "stable update" builds he's doing).
