Message-ID: Well, hmmm. Those of you who are closely involved probably have figured that things have changed again. Those who haven't heard anything are left to guess or find clever ways to figure it out :-) So now we need a new strategy. We're less close now to having a qualified candidate in time for even the regularly scheduled election (which to fit in this year, would have to be finalized by this Friday, clearly not possible). We've got a steering committee of seven, which includes all three of the election committee. Amongst us, we should be able to work out a way forward that's within the charter. I don't actually remember the exact dates of the last election, we could probably find it, but there's not much point in fussing to the day making sure it's exactly two years since the last, but even by an approximation we're going to be late, and this puts us in kind of a weird state. There's no problem with my sticking around until we have a replacement during the term I'm elected for, I said I'd do that in my (attempted) resignation. But what do we do past that point? One thought has been to do a sort of two-in-a-box (Intel term that is, sorry) with me and a certain other person whose existence has not yet been announced officially yet... that is, co-chair for some period; but I don't know how to set that up, even if it's the right thing to do. So I'm looking for suggestions here, guys! Mats
