Hi all,

Some of you may have noticed that the KDE & GNOME projects announced
earlier this year that we would be colocating our flagship conferences
again next year. We just announced the dates, venue and format for the
conference this week: http://www.desktopsummit.org/

The conference will take place from August 6th to August 12th in the
Humbolt University in Berlin city center (you can take a quick stroll
round the Brandenburg Gate at lunchtime, if you'd like).

We are expecting over 1000 attendees over the course of the week,
including of course hundreds of GNOME and KDE contributors, but also, we
hope, people from all over the Free Desktop world.

This conference will be a natural place for everyone interested in free
software graphical user interfaces (in all their forms) to gather and
listen, speak, and argue about the future. We expect to see developers
working on infrastructure and ISVs building on the platform to attend,
and truly make this a desktop summit worthy of the name.

Mark the dates in your calendars - 6-12 August, 2011 - and I will keep
you updates with more information as time goes by.

Cheers,
Dave.
